Rookie - 1st grade and New 2nd graders
Freshman - 3rd grade and advanced 2nd graders
Sophomore - 4th grade and advanced 3rd graders
JV - 5th grade and advanced 4th graders
Varsity - 6th grade & 7th grade!

Delivery permitting, uniforms are scheduled to be handed out the first day of cheer practice along with bow, if your cheerleader came to the mandatory fitting.
Additional items needed for cheerleading that are not included:
Must provide a current physical, a copy of birth certificate and report card

Provided items: Uniform top and skirt, 2 bows, insurance, and league fees for the 2024 season.

This year we will be holding clinics and a tryout for any cheerleader
interested in becoming a part of our Competition Cheer Squads!
Cheerleaders must be entering grades 3rd-7th for the 2024-2025
school year, and also be registered for MYG sideline cheer to
participate.
At clinics we will review technique for motions and jumps and will be
learning a cheer and a dance.
Tryouts will take place in small groups by time slot, on the evening of
Wednesday May 22nd. We will be looking at overall skill and
tumbling ability. All cheerleaders who attend tryouts will be placed
on one of our MYG competition squads.
Our competition squads have a tremendous amount of fun, but also
work very hard. All competition squad members will be required to
attend a mandatory choreography camp the first week in June, as
well as required practices on Sunday afternoons/evenings.
Being a member of one of our competition squads is a great way for
cheerleaders to sharpen their existing skills. All competition squads
will compete at the OGYFA Cheerleading Competition on Sunday,
September 29, and will also perform at our end of season cheer
showcase.
The registration fee this year for competition cheer will be $35, due
the Saturday of tryout week.
More specific information will be provided to families after
registration.
